The accelerated timeline services would initially be limited to particular APS types
When the PAAB launches APP, the service will initially only be available for a subset of submission types. However, over time, the list of applicable submission types will broaden until it eventually includes all submissions. This gradual increase will provide us the opportunity to scale our staff, technology, and policies / procedures to make this service level sustainable.
The service will initially be offered for the following subset of submissions:
- Launches for products approved via Health Canada's "Interim Order" or their "Accelerated Review".
- Time-sensitive announcements (e.g., formulary coverage changes, product shortages, press-releases, guideline updates, availability announcements)
- Updates to the information already approved in prior APS (minor updates that need to be made on a timely basis)
- Print pieces that are re-purposed to digital media
- Risk Management Tools
- Patient information APS
It is also likely that PAAB will first launch this service for a pilot group. This means the PAAB may initially make the service available to a subset of companies who'll help us refine the service before launch (to iron out any kinks).
